Democrats Going for the Gold!
I arrived in Denver at around 8:00 a.m. this morning and I did not run into Joe Biden until 12:15 p.m. - four hours and fifteen minutes. I know I am still suffering from Olympic withdrawal, but I think it will be a tough for the Republicans to beat that time in the candidate sighting event. There he was walking down the middle of Chambers Street with that gigantic, unmistakable grin plastered on his face. Hordes of police and an entourage were in tow as the lunchtime crowds cheered. Joe Biden, the last time I saw him, he was holding court in the Mars Café by Drake taking too long to answer questions from a hundred or so people straining to hear him over the whining coffee grinder. Strange the difference a few months make. Parking is remarkably painless in downtown Denver - unless, of course, Joe Biden walks by your car. I am told the locals have vacated downtown to make parking easier for those of us visiting. So far, I like the Coloradoans hospitality!
