The Death of a Nation and Apple Pie is Yummy…More at 11

Here lie the remains of a once great country, founded by people who bravely decided to govern themselves, build a society, and embrace free thinking and personal liberty. It was lost in the first part of the 21st century to a disease that caused the people to poll every silly question they could think of and debate the mundane to death on a 24/7 televised news cycle and the Internet.

In other news, a recent poll shows 56% of Americans find apple pie yummy. Tune in tonight to MSNBC to hear the blueberry pie lobby’s reaction…

Today my Twitter feed gave me a link to a poll showing 43% of Americans disapproved of the President’s trip to seek support for a Chicago Olympics. No offense to my friend and pollster extraordinaire, Ann Selzer, but there is a thing as too much polling. We say we don’t want leaders to govern by polling, but then don’t let them take a step without issuing one.
